| Evelyn
learned how to sew as a teenager growing up in Atlanta, Georgia.
Raised on horses, she played Varsity Polo for the University of
Virginia. After graduating in 1977, she went on to ride race horses
at the Middleburg Training Track in Virginia. In 1979 Evelyn apprenticed
with the Journeyman Saddler in Middleburg, VA. There she learned
all types of leatherwork including crafting custom bridles, saddle
restoration, boot alterations, all types of leather repairs, and
sewing custom chaps. After years of being out of the horse industry,
Evelyn returned to horses with her daughter in 2000. Since then
she has crafted an assortment of leather articles including purses,
hand tooled spur straps and photo album covers, chair seat covers,
fleece auto seat covers, leather pants, chaps and vests. This site
offers a sample of her work. |
